... I’ve accepted, by now, that it’s just going to happen every year 'xD I feel like every time I fall a little bit more in love with this book & find more things to enjoy. This time around I just kept thinking about how genuinely kind Shen Qingqiu is under all the complaining – he may insist he’s only trying to save his own skin, but this is a man who never met someone in danger he didn’t want to help or someone hurting his heart didn’t go out to and I love that for him.

(Granted, he’s usually way off base about why people are hurting, but it’s the thought that counts.)
