Kliff sounds incredulous, and Faye braces herself. Kliff has never been one to mince his words, least of all with her, and she must look a mess right now, with her face red and blotchy with tears, crying over her stupid mending like a stupid maiden in a stupid book—

It's such an easy fix. She'd be done already if her hands would just stop shaking, if she could just pull herself together for five minutes and stop stabbing her own fingers—
