Listen. What is their deal!!

Idk, I didn't pay that much attention to them as a teen but on my latest reread I found their little slice of plot really compelling. The claustrophobia of Hinoto's whole situation, the powerlessness and the railing against fate that ultimately leads them both to casually set the ball rolling for the end of the world – they play such a huge part in getting things started, and I just want to shake them until more plot comes out. What was their childhood like? When did Hinoto's evil side first appear, and how much of it is just... her, not wanting to die? How did Kanoe learn to ride along her sister's dreams, and how did she ever come the conclusion that causing the apocalypse was the best thing she could do for her sister? Is there a version of events somewhere where Kanoe was the one who guided the Dragons of Heavens while Hinoto('s evil side?) assembled the Dragons of Earth?

 

Dragonlance

Requested characters: Dalamar, Laurana, Tanis

Elves with complicated feelings about their homeland is the common thread here! Dalamar & Tanis were fascinating to me even as a teen as an as-genuine-as-they-can-make-it friendship grounded in a mutual understanding of what makes the other tick and a willingness to roll with the occasional betrayal; Dalamar & Laurana never interact in canon, but they have a surprising amount in common in spite of their obvious differences – both of them rejected for refusing to stick to their assigned roles in elven society, both of them willing to prioritize diplomacy and work with theoretical enemies, etc.; I think they'd be good foils for each other, and that makes them interesting to me.

I'd be happy to read a fic set at any point in this very expansive canon, but for the sake of narrowing it down I'm especially partial to the aftermath of Legends, or that post “Sacrifice” road trip to Silvanesti that is alluded to but never shown. I also love the War of Souls trilogy if you feel like AU-ing a way for them to meet there, and fwiw I would consider a fic where Tanis is only present via flashbacks, or where Dalamar & Laurana bond over his absence, etc, 100% fair game for this one.

Requested character: Yu Lexuan

Have you ever met a character that seemed 100% tailor-made to suit your tastes? This is that character for me. Troublemaker with a fan: check. A generally warm and friendly person who will still con you out of your last coin if you're not careful: check. The kind of character who can believably disappear offscreen for a bit and come back with a solution: check. "I've always put my own interest first but you keep being nice to me and now I'm having scruples, ugh": check and double-check. Instant blorbo material, I've been craving fic for 2 years.

Episodes 28-29 live in my head rent-free and I'd love anything even tangentially related – missing scenes, backstory fic, more complications from being exposed... I'm also really fond of the entire cast, so Yu Lexuan & Any would be great! Business with Wenbin? Student council shenanigans? Literally anything at all with Feng Chengjun, because the fact that Feng Chengjun goes from "I don't trust this guy, he's suspicious and possibly evil" to "if the law is against him maybe the law is wrong, actually" over the course of the show makes their friendship EXTREMELY relevant to my interests.

 

Grandia

Requested character: Liete

I was so happy to find this one in the tagset! Liete is one of the first characters I remember ever being fannish about, way back when – mostly on account of, pretty magic elf, but I also vividly remember the disconnect of actually meeting her after hours and hours of game and realizing, oh, our mystic guide is both very lonely and a huge dork! that's kinda awesome. I would love some post-canon adventures for her, exploring the world she used to watch from above, alone or with anyone else – what kind of future does she make for herself, now that she's no longer an outside observer?

 

Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword

Requested characters: Louise, Pent, Hawkeye

*marge simpson voice* I just think they're neat.

The three of them were very memorable to me as characters, for both the classic Fire Emblem Quirkiness and the fact that so much of their screentime involves all three of them together in some fashion. It's clear that they spent a fair amount of time together while Pent & Louise were in Arcadia and came to know each other well and trust and respect each other a great deal in that time, and I'd love anything at all touching on that – in Arcadia, in post-canon, whatever works. I do OT3 them, so if you want to go down that road: yes, please! but I'm perfectly happy with gen here, I just really want an interaction.
